Chon Hwa Tsai-Morris PH.D

Dr. C. H. Tsai-Morris was born in Taipei, Taiwan and received her Ph.D. at the University of Kansas Medical School at Kansas City, KS. She continued her post-doctoral training at the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, University of Maryland School of Medicine at Baltimore, MD and at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Department of Medicine of the University of Chicago, Chicago, IL. Dr. Tsai-Morris is a senior staff scientist in the Molecular Endocrinology Section, Program on Developmental Endocrinology and Genetics, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development of the National Institutes of Health. Her major research interests have focused on the regulatory mechanisms of reproduction and fertility control. She has led a variety of molecular engineering and cloning projects and published 88 articles in the scientific journals up to date (2014). Dr. Tsai-Morris was also invited by Atlas of Genetics and Cytogenics in Oncology & Haemetology to compose gene card of GRTH/DDX25, LH and Prolactin receptors relevant to cancer and other diseases. She is a member of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Endocrine Society.
Dr. Tsai-Morris has become the member of the Proyecto Salud Board of Directors since 2003 after her late husband and the co-founder of Proyecto Salud, Dr. Michael S. Morris. Being part of Proyecto Salud is an essential way to express her respect and continued support of her husband's dream that "all individuals, regardless of social status or ethnic background, deserved quality health care." Now, it has become her commitment to public service.
