Juan Sempertegui

Juan Sempertegui has served on the Board of The Montgomery County Language Minority Health Project, "Proyecto Salud" since May of 2011 and was a member of the Finance Committee. He works as an Associate at Carr Maloney, PC practicing primarily in the areas of General Liability, Professional Malpractice, and Complex Litigation. He has represented various attorneys, accountants and other professionals in malpractice claims. Juan has also written materials and provided training to professionals about minimizing malpractice exposure. Prior to joining Carr Maloney, PC, Juan served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Maurice A. Ross of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Before practicing law, Juan worked for nine years in the fields of accounting and finance. For four of those years, he worked as a Program & Budget Analyst at the Federal Reserve Board for over four years. He is a former board member of Community Clinic, Inc. and the Silver Spring Citizen’s Advisory Board. Juan currently serves as Vice-President for External Affairs of the Hispanic Bar Association of D.C., Chair of the Latino/a Alumni Association of the Washington College of Law, and as Region V President for the Hispanic National Bar Association. Juan received an Honorable Discharge as a Non-Commissioned Officer from the U.S. Marine Corps in 2000.
